Fireworks over Mt. Fuji
The annual Lake Kawaguchi Winter Fireworks draw thousands of spectators to watch the colorful displays in the clear winter skies above the iconic Mt. Fuji.
The fireworks launch from three locations around the lake: Oike Park, Tatamiiwa and Yagisaki Park. Oike Park is the main venue, so you should find a spot here if you want to experience the full force of the show. Tatamiiwa is a great place to enjoy the reflections of the fireworks in the lake and Yagisaki Park has a large open field which offers an unobstructed view.
With a number of hot spring resorts around the lake, an overnight stay offers a great chance to relax and explore further.
