Home of beautiful dolls and warm, soothing waters
Inatori Onsen is a gorgeous hot spring resort on the edge of the Izu Peninsula . Enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean while soaking at a traditional inn or enjoying the freshest fish.
How to Get There
Inatori Onsen is accessible by train.
The onsen is served by Izu-Inatori Station, one hour from Atami. Take the JR Ito line to Ito, and then transfer to the Izu Kyuko Line.
Relax in Luxury
Inatori Onsen features multiple traditional Japanese inns and luxury hotels catering to those of us in need of some serious relaxation. Balanced on the cliffs of a cape jutting into the Pacific Ocean, most of the inns have open-air baths where you can bathe in the refreshing warm water while enjoying some stunning views.
Hanging Dolls
From January to March, the town holds a hanging dolls festival where beautifully decorated Hina dolls are displayed alongside hanging cloth dolls, drawing crowds from all over. During this period a number of events take place, including workshops where you can make your own hanging dolls.
Local Fish
Before it was known as an onsen resort, Inatori was a fishing village. Come here to try delicious and varied sushi and sashimi at any number of local inns and restaurants.
