Summer Sonic is one of the largest urban music festivals in Japan, held simultaneously in Chiba and Osaka each year in August. A rock 'n' roll tradition since 2000, this festival features some of the world's biggest names in music.

How to Get There
Summer Sonic takes place at two venues in both Chiba and Osaka and is accessible by public transportation.
In Chiba, Summer Sonic takes place at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe . The venue is in an urban location near Kaihin-Makuhari Station and is easily accessible from central Tokyo by train.
Meanwhile, the Osaka it takes place at Maishima Sports Island. While there isn't a direct train line to this venue, you can take the train from Osaka to Nishikujo Station and transfer to a bus to Maishima. The trip will take just under an hour.

Bands such as Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Foo Fighters, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Cheap Trick, Coldplay, The 1975, artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande, and performers from the EDM scene such as The Chainsmokers, Zedd, and Alan Walker have played here.
