Bandai-Asahi National Park

Usagidaira Campsite

A forested campsite located along the Bandai-Azuma Skyline

Settle in at Usagidaira Campsite (1,576 m) for a relaxing stay amid a virgin forest of Japanese white pine, Japanese hemlock, and Erman’s birch. The campsite’s high altitude makes it a cool refuge from the hot and humid summer weather. It is conveniently located along the Bandai-Azuma Skyline, a scenic highway that leads to the Jododaira Wetlands and the trailhead to Mount Azuma-Kofuji.

The campground has grassy sites and sites with raised wooden decks on which to pitch your tent. After setting up camp, head to the covered kitchen area to cook dinner, or have a soak in the nearby hot springs of Takayu Onsen or Tsuchiyu Onsen. A short nature trail that leads to Okenuma Pond by way of the lush Torikodaira Wetlands starts from Usagidaira Campsite.
